Similes & Metaphors

Simile: A comparison between two similar things using like or as. It kinda creates like a vivid description for the reader to understand what the writer is trying to describe. In writing it shows us a better picture of where the setting takes place, the description of the characters, and description for almost anything. Using simile in writing will definitely make the writing better.

A Hug From A Mother
By: Byron Cevallos

A hug is like a blanket,
Warm and comfortable.
But a hug from your mother,
Is aspriceless as a ruby.

Metaphor: A metaphor is basically a simile without using the words "like" or "as". It also describes comparison between two or more things. This also is something huge that will help in making your writing better if you put metaphors. People often use more simile than metaphors cause similes are easier to make.

Her Love
By: Byron Cevallos

Her love is the adrenaline in my heart,
The lifeline that pumps through my soul.
And every time she’s in my arms,
She fills my veins with life.
